How to Rock your Senior Session
Whether you are graduating from High school, College, Hair School, whatever it is! You should let the(your ) world know of your accomplishment. Graduation shoots are a little bit different/EXTRAordinary than other shoots, or at least can be, because they focus on an individual.
Here are some ways to make sure your Senior Shoot stand out:
First things first- Jot down 10 describing words about yourself. Like cute, happy, simple, etc. Use this list to help you narrow down the type of vibe you would like to portray in your pictures. (You can send this list to me (if you feel comfortable with this) so I can help you make some decisions.
Wear your favorite outfits
Typically for photoshoots I will say avoid Logos, busy, torn, etc. but I don't say that for Graduation Shoots. If it's your favorite, wear it! That shirt you wear every week, I want to see it. Your favorite prom dress, bring it along. Those Nike shoes that you saved up for, yes! I want to see it.
If you are changing outfits, Try not to pick the same type of outfit. Example: Don't pick out 3 different jumpsuits to wear. Switch it up!
Dress for the Season you are shooting in
Props
Incorporate your interests by bringing along props (even animals) that represents your likes, loves and hobbies.
Location
Location might be the hardest part of the decision making phase in a senior shoot because you have so many options. Just like the other parts of a senior shoot, I preferably like to shoot in places that have meaning to the senior. But a lot of times grads, especially High School grads might not have a favorite spot. Which is a ok. Here are some typical ideas of some locations:
At the school they're graduating from
Really iconic location in the area
around the town: Main St/Down town
Super random locations :Laundry mat, car wash, just in side the car, junk yard, etc.
